"they received the word with all readiness of mind"

(Acts 17:11)

The Berean Christadelphians

Modern Revival of Apostolic Faith

Our name and

our  Beliefs

The Christadelphians are few in number but they claim to hold the same beliefs as "the sect everywhere spoken against" who lived in the first century.  The Faith was revived in 1848 as a result of the labours of Dr John Thomas MD.

The name ‘Christadelphian’ comes from the Greek language and means “brethren of Christ” taken from Hebrews 2:11:

“For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren”

The word ‘Berean’ is taken from Acts chapter 17 and verse 11:

"And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea....These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched

the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

They are believers in those doctrines only which can be proved to be taught in the Bible which they accept as a wholly inspired record from God.
